Law 11 makes it clear that there is no offside offence if a player receives the ball directly from a corner kick. However, once the corner kick has been taken, the player who took the corner kick can then be offside. In this situation, the referee awards an indirect free kick to the defending team for an offside offence by the kicker (interference with play by playing the ball passed by the team-mate).
